BP and Shell are raking in obscene profits – $9.6 billion in just three months! – while all of us are facing rising living costs and the devastating effects of climate chaos that these polluters are fuelling.
What's the government doing about it? Letting polluters off the hook with a dodgy tax loophole, rewarding them for extracting more oil and gas from the North Sea.
It’s a blow to everyone struggling to pay their energy bills and our planet. Yet the solution is simple: close the loophole. But companies like Shell and BP are not interested in changing how they do business or giving up their profits, no matter the cost to our planet or future.
If we have any chance of stopping BP and Shell, and starting down a path of recovery, we need to hit them where it hurts – their wallets.
Now is the time for all of us to raise our voices in unison and call on the government to close this disastrous loophole, while BP and Shell are still making headlines for their outrageous profiteering – and political pressure is building fast. Are you in?
Tell the UK government to make BP and Shell pay what they really owe!
