Delta Airlines has positioned itself as an ally to the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
But its political donations tell a very different story. The mega airline donated thousands of dollars this election cycle to Georgia Senate candidates David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler -- two senators who are actively trying to advance their political careers at the expense of Black and Brown people.
We need to show Delta that this hypocrisy is not OK.
Demand Delta Airlines stop bankrolling racist politicians and cut all ties with David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.
Earlier this year, Delta’s CEO Ed Bastian pledged that the company would “take a stand against racism and injustice,” and would use its resources to make the world more just for Black and Brown people.
But when Kelly Loeffler falsely claimed that the #BlacklivesMatter movement would “destroy American principles,” the company stayed silent. And when David Perdue willfully mispronounced Kamala Harris’ name at a recent campaign rally -- a racist act that Black and Brown people are all too familiar with -- the company yet again chose silence.
Instead of taking a stand against racism and injustice like they promised to do, Delta has chosen to contribute thousands of dollars to keep these racist senators in office.
Call out Delta’s hypocrisy: Tell it to stop bankrolling racist politicians.
Together, we sent a resounding message at the ballot box that this country needs to do better in its commitment to Black and Brown communities.
Now we need to remind mega-companies like Delta Airlines that we won’t allow it to ride the coattails of the Black Lives Matter movement while bankrolling politicians who would see all progress stamped out if re-elected.
Sign the petition and tell Delta Airlines now is the time for action, not empty words.
