Update (June 1st, 2020) - DOLLARAMA has now installed plexiglass shields at all of its 5,850 check-out counters!!! DOLLARAMA is also now paying a premium of 3$/hour for its warehouse workers in Montreal. But the pressure is not dropping, DOLLARAMA still has to provide a minimum of 2$/hour (or more) danger pay instead of its stingy 10% increase for ALL of its workers.
Update (April 16th, 2020) - Your pressure is working! DOLLARAMA contacted SumOfUs to tell us that they are providing gloves and masks free of charge to its employees and are now shipping plexiglass shields to their 5,850 check-out counters. We also have to make sure those plexiglass shields are truly put up.

DOLLARAMA has been deemed an essential service during this COVID-19 pandemic.
But the multi-billion dollar company is refusing to provide workers with gloves and masks and many of the cashiers don’t even have a glass partition separating them from customers.
Workers are endangering their lives for minimum wage.
Walmart, Loblaws and most major retailers equipped their workers with appropriate protective equipment weeks ago and provided them with an increased danger pay, to try to make up for the risks involved in showing up day-in and day-out for work.
No worker should have to put their life on the line to put a roof over their head and DOLLARAMA stands alone in its industry in its complete disregard for its workers. Now is the perfect time to support frontline workers at DOLLARAMA who deserve danger pay and safe working conditions.
Call on DOLLARAMA to support ALL its employees.
Stores like DOLLARAMA that are deemed an essential service are protecting their employees with glass partitions, security guards and protective equipment. But not DOLLARAMA.
And, instead of raising the minimum wage workers’ hourly rate by $2 - like a majority of Canadian retailers - DOLLARAMA stiffed its workers by raising their hourly wages by a measly $1.25.
After nearly a month into this pandemic crisis, DOLLARAMA’s actions show that it cares more about saving a buck than saving the lives of their employees and customers.
When SumOfUs members demanded that Uber offer paid sick leave to drivers at the start of the pandemic, the company reacted quickly by offering 14 days paid leave to workers most vulnerable to the coronavirus.
Will you tell DOLLARAMA to respect pandemic rules and give workers the correct protective gear?
