Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is considering privatizing its public health services. This is because the Manitoba provincial government is forcing it to find savings of $83 million this year.
Cutting corners in public health and privatizing services will not create better health care. Privatization does not lead to better care or to better savings as is being proven in the UK right now.
The WRHA is under a lot of pressure but it must be looking at providing more and better services as Winnipeg already boasts some of the worst hospital wait times and most hospital deaths in the country.

When municipalities look at privatization it is usually out of desperation to save money. Private partnerships rarely live up to their promises of cost-savings, however.
Concerned Canadians, like you, must work together to ensure that health services stay public all over the country so as not to set a dangerous precedent for other communities.
By adding your voice to the opposition you are standing with the hundreds of thousands of Winnipegers that are in danger of having their health services decline even further.
Please sign today and stop the privatization of public health services in Winnipeg.
