A Canadian mining company is ripping apart a small Indonesian island for gold – and locals need our help to fight back.
Since the government cruelly turned over half their island to the miners, residents have been resisting any way they can: organizing neighbours in their villages, protesting at proposed mining sites – and now a legal case brought by 56 local women is headed to the Indonesian Supreme Court.
This might be their last chance. They’re up against their own government, and the fate of their island home hangs in the balance.
They need all the help they can get to keep the case going and take on the government’s lawyers – will you chip in to stand with these brave women as they defend their home from a gold-hungry foreign mining company?
