Right now, as a wave of student activism for Palestine is surging and spreading to campuses across the United States, and now to universities here in the UK, we the undersigned join in solidarity. This is more than a protest; it’s a reckoning. As Israel intensifies its attacks on Gaza—where over two million people are trapped, bombed, and starved—students are rising up, demanding that their institutions divest from injustice and stand with Palestine.
The scenes from Gaza are heartbreaking and horrifying. Just recently, a mass grave was uncovered at Nasser Hospital: 310 bodies, buried naked, many bound at the hands. Among them, elderly citizens and wounded women. This isn't just a crisis—it's a massacre under our watch.
This isn’t about religion or nationality. It’s about humanity. It’s about standing against a 57-year-old illegal occupation that has escalated into what many are now calling genocide. We are Jewish, Muslim, Christian, atheist—we are diverse, we are united. And we denounce antisemitism and Islamophobia in all its forms.
Each tent pitched, every sign held high represents hope—a beacon for freedom and justice. But with these peaceful protests, there comes a heavy price. Students are being arrested, and then evicted from their housing. We need your voice now more than ever. We need to show that the world is watching, that the world cares, and that we demand change.
We are calling on you—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and all allies in our local communities—to sign this open letter in solidarity with student protestors and with this movement for Palestine.
Break the silence. Share it. Talk about it. Let’s make this the largest movement our campuses have seen in recent history.
The time to act is now. For freedom. For justice. For peace. Will you add your name in solidarity?
