Thomas Cook is STILL selling tickets to SeaWorld -- despite SeaWorld’s disgusting record on animal rights.
Dozens of dolphins and orcas have died at SeaWorld parks, from causes such as trauma, gangrene and, just this week, pneumonia.
Orcas are intelligent mammals that form friendships, and require large spaces in which to swim and socialise. The cramped, unnatural conditions at SeaWorld are no place for these beautiful creatures.
With the latest tragic orca death at SeaWorld hitting headlines, it’s time to put the pressure on. Tell Thomas Cook to stick to its own principles of supporting animal welfare -- and stop profiting from Seaworld’s orca abuse.
Thomas Cook: stop supporting Orca abuse! End your association with SeaWorld.
Just recently Kasatka, a 42-year-old orca, died of pneumonia at a SeaWorld resort in San Diego, California. She'd been suffering from a bacterial infection for over a decade.
Kasatka’s is the third death in quick succession at the park. In January the resort’s most famous whale, Tillikum, also died of a bacterial infection, while a three-month-old orca calf, Kyara, died at SeaWorld’s San Antonio site last month.
Sadly, Thomas Cook is ignoring this suffering in the name of profit.
Last year the travel company published its own animal welfare policy -- but it has reneged on that policy at the first chance, in favour of a lucrative partnership.
After 1.7 million SumOfUs members like you of you called on SeaWorld to stop breeding orcas in captivity, it ended its breeding program last year. But as many whales remain in captivity and orca shows continue at SeaWorld it's time to pile the pressure on travel companies like Thomas Cook that profit from SeaWorld's cruelty.
Thomas Cook knows the world is watching -- and it wants to be seen to do the right thing. Tell Thomas Cook to do the and end its association with SeaWorld now.
Thomas Cook: stop selling SeaWorld tickets!
