Are you an investor in American Funds, Vanguard, Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, TIAA-CREF, or iShares?
Unless they hear from you, the big mutual funds are going to keep voting however they want with the shares that represent their savings. If paying customers call their mutual funds about this resolution, those firms will have to listen, as their bottom line is at stake.
Now's the time to tell them to vote for our resolution demanding that Amazon do better on workers' rights.
Can you make a call? It's quick and easy. Here's how:
- Find the number of your mutual fund below and call.
- Once you get through (even if it's voicemail), ask your pension fund to vote FOR a human rights risk assessment at Amazon's annual general meeting on May 17, 2016. Use this script, or your own words (the more personal, the better).
Hi, my name is [your name] and I’m an investor in your fund. I want you to vote FOR agenda Item 4 at the Amazon annual general meeting on May 17.
I am concerned that Amazon is not properly managing human rights risks and I want you to support this call for a risk assessment. Please call me back at [your number] and tell me what you plan to do. Thank you.
And finally, don't forget to let us know how it went!
