The government’s asking the public’s opinion on how far and fast it should ‘green’ our financial system. So thousands of us are responding to its Green Finance Strategy consultation - it has the potential to accelerate green investment in infrastructure, local communities and jobs all over the country.
The more of us who send a personal email to the consultation, the more chance the government will listen. The minister leading this strategy is Kwasi Kwarteng MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Below are some prompts for your email, which can be as short or long as you like.
Points to consider for your email:
- Why do you care about climate change and protecting our planet? Share your hopes and fears.
- Do you think the government is doing enough to lead the transition to a green economy? Should it be investing more in green energy and jobs?
- Should banks and businesses be given stronger rules and support to green their operations, and reduce their unsustainable ones?
