3 July 2017: Wow. The Senate was just told by a former Treasury official that big polluters like Chevron should NOT have to pay tax on existing oil and gas projects.
Enough is enough: industry should not be getting free passes while Aussies like you and me are missing out on billions that could go into our schools and hospitals. Let's not give up until we win this.
Will you please help keep up the pressure? Sign the petition to force fossil fuel giants to pay their fair share now.
*********
Offshore gas giants like Shell, Chevron, and BP are cheating Australians like you out of billions of dollars by exploiting an outdated, broken mining royalties system.
We are letting the world’s largest fossil fuel corporations dig up our precious natural resources for free.
If we don’t fix this broken system, Australians stand to miss out on $480 billion over the next two decades. That's more than six times the entire health budget.
Public outrage is building. The Treasurer launched an inquiry and has started quietly calling for reform.
But sources tell us that the Government is being fiercely lobbied by the fossil fuel industry behind closed doors. They’re pulling out every intimidation tactic they have.
The Government needs a huge public outcry behind them to stand up to the fossil fuel lobby. So we need SumOfUs members like you to speak up now.
Tell Scott Morrison to stop the gas industry cheating us out of billions.
