More than 500,000 SumOfUs members have signed our petition against the Bayer Monsanto merger -- including many Bayer shareholders like you.
Now, we want to take our campaign to the next level - but we need your help: If you and thousands of other Bayer shareholders send a message to Bayer’s CEO Werner Baumann and tell him that you oppose the merger, he won’t be able to ignore your concerns.
As a Bayer shareholder, your voice carries more weight than the average SumOfUs member. Use this leverage now and help us to stop this mega merger!
Bayer just raised their bid. Baumann and the other board members clearly are serious about making this deal work. They want to build a monstrous megacorp that will bring bee-killing chemicals, GMO seeds and highly toxic pesticides all under the same roof.
Once the deal goes ahead it could spell disaster for our food supply and farmers, ushering in a new era of sterile crops soaked in dangerous pesticides. If the deal is successful, it'll make the new corporation the biggest seed maker and pesticide company in the world -- and it will have almost total control of the most important aspects of our food supply.
This is why we have to stop the Bayer Monsanto merger:
- It breaks antitrust laws designed to protect the public
- Consumers will pay more for food and have fewer choices
- It would create the world’s largest agrochemical company
- Our bees and butterflies could face extinction
- Monsanto’s reputation is terrible -- and with good reason. It has sued states over GMO labelling, charges farmers with excessive license fees for its seeds and has been called “thugs” by the Argentinian government
This is why we have to make sure our protest is heard. Every single one of us who owns Bayer shares literally owns a part of the company. As a shareholder, use your voice to help us increase the pressure on Bayer.
