Raquel has HIV and lives in Peru. Nikhail has leukaemia and lives in Australia.
It might not sound like they have much in common, but they do. Both of them rely on access to affordable medicines to stay well, or help secure their recovery. And they all know that if the TPP trade deal goes ahead, their health could be in grave danger.
We don't have much time to stop this deal. Rumour is that leaders are close to an agreement, and this Thursday's TPP talks in Atlanta could be the last ever.
Big drug companies have lobbied hard to make sure that the TPP would maximise their profits, rather than protect patients' lives. But it hasn't been signed yet -- a huge, people-powered outcry could still derail the deal.
Add your name to tell TPP negotiators: don't put corporations' profits ahead of people's lives.
It's easy to believe that there'll never be a deal agreed on TPP. For years now, politicians have been saying it's about to go ahead -- and then backing down at the last minute.
The truth is that the huge public opposition to the TPP is the reason it hasn't passed: politicians are scared they'll lose their jobs if they sign up to a deal that their voters don't like.
We're working hard to make sure we take our message right to the door of the talks in Atlanta. SumOfUs members will be joining with activists from hundreds of other groups -- and our names will be read outside the trade negotiations so we can't be ignored.
The real power of SumOfUs is that we're a global movement, with members from every country that could be hurt by the TPP.
Over the last two years, SumOfUs members have funded radio and newspaper ads all over the world from Maui to New Zealand to Australia to make our message cut through. Tens of thousands of us have overwhelmed the offices of key decision makers letting them know that we don't want this deal.
Wherever negotiators go, we've turned up. World leaders haven't been able to keep the TPP in the limelight. Now, this could be the last opportunity to have our voice heard.
Add your name to the petition telling the negotiators to ditch this dangerous deal.
