Ecuador’s President is setting off a gold rush in the Amazon, greenlighting 165 new mining projects in the last year alone!
It’s a death sentence for the fragile rainforest and the Indigenous communities that call it home.
But one community’s inspiring leader, Josefina Tunki, is fighting back with legal action against the government -- at risk of her life.
Just after filing, she received this threat from one of the mining companies: “stop or we’ll cut someone’s throat”.
Josefina needs help to keep up her fight – and to protect herself and those around her. She’s asking the SumOfUs community to stand with her — can you chip in to stop the Amazon gold rush and fight for Indigenous communities everywhere?
