Domino’s Pizza is skimping on more than the olives –- it has systematically stolen over $565,000 in workers’ wages since 2007.
The company requires its franchises use software that purposely under-calculates workers’ wages.
Cat’s out of the bag, and now Domino’s workers are fighting back. On Tuesday, they filed a lawsuit in New York against the pizza franchise to take back their stolen wages. Let’s stand with them and make sure Domino’s pays up.
Domino’s --pay back the workers NOW!
Companies like McDonald’s have gotten away with wage theft for years -- and this lawsuit could be a game-changer for the entire fast food industry.
In particular, Domino’s has a history of profiting off the backs of its most vulnerable workers -- and we’ve held it to account before.
In 2014, when Domino’s gave its CEO a pay raise over $9 million dollars while its workers earn less than $9 an hour, the SumOfUs community gathered 48,478 signatures opposing the CEO’s ridiculous pay package.
And it worked. Nearly one third of Domino’s shareholders opposed re-appointing Andrew Balson, head of the compensation committee, and close to one fourth voted to deny the executive pay plan!
It is time to bring the heat again and keep the fast food industry accountable.
We demand Domino’s pay back the wages to set precedent for other unprotected workers.
