As we speak, Brussels is drafting the new bill on Artificial Intelligence (AI), and we need to work hard to make sure it has people and not big tech profit at its core.

The members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are forming their positions around the definition of AI that will rein in Big Tech. We need them to expand the definition to include systems that pose significant risks to our fundamental rights.

Trillion-dollar tech companies like Facebook and TikTok have created toxic AI-powered algorithms that spread disinformation, disrupt elections and incite hate speech and violence. But together we can fix it and ensure the EU regulation on AI will hold them accountable.

We need to make sure they hear us and not the industry's multi-billion dollar lobby machinery.
