A report has just revealed that Monarch butterflies are in grave danger of being wiped out -- and their numbers would have to increase five-fold just to get up to minimally safe levels again.
Monarch butterflies aren’t just beautiful -- they play a key role ecological role by pollinating many types of wildflowers.
Sadly, we could soon live in a world where they could be a thing of the past. Monsanto’s RoundUp, the most widely used herbicide in the world, is rapidly killing off milkweed -- the food that feeds these butterflies.
Things are starting to change. Recently we had a huge win: together we delayed the renewal of Monsanto’s licence to use glyphosate -- the core ingredient in RoundUp -- in Europe.
But it’s not over.
We’re working hard to stop Monsanto’s glyphosate in Europe. If we can clinch a victory, we could set a precedent that could lead to this dangerous chemical being banned all around the world.
Can you help make it happen? Please, chip in to stop Monsanto and save the Monarch butterflies.
