It’s gross. In order to keep their jobs by reaching unrealistic sales targets, Telus, Rogers and Bell call centre employees are cheating customers -- even selling expensive services to seniors who don’t understand what they’ve just agreed to. Telus, Rogers and, Bell are coercing their employees into taking advantage of vulnerable populations just to make a buck.
A scathing new investigation has shown managers at Rogers ignoring sales reps’ who lie and cheat customers in order to keep up with sales targets. And coaches at Bell encourage sales reps to sell on every call, even if it’s for a technical issue.
This high-pressure environment causes mental health issues for Telus, Bell and Rogers employees and cheats its customers. A huge outcry right now could pressure both corporations to make real changes in how they do business.
Will you please join me in signing the petition to tell Telus, Rogers, and Bell to stop coercing call centre employees into cheating customers?
Telus, Bell, and Rogers are the biggest telecommunications companies in Canada, raking in tens of billions of dollars a year. These massive profits are buoyed by scamming and cheating customers -- and they’ve gotten away with in for too long. A massive public outcry now can force them to change their policies.
These aggressive sales tactics hurt some of our most vulnerable Canadians the most including the elderly who are often on fixed incomes, pressured into buying products they don’t need.
The call centre employees are suffering, too. The stress of job insecurity from not meeting excessive sale goals, while compromising their morals has led many employees to mental health issues including panic attacks. Telus, Bell, and Rogers need to stop threatening employees with job loss if they don’t make unrealistic sales goals.
SumOfUs is no stranger to taking on telecom companies. Over 92,000 caring members like you signed a petition calling on Telus, Rogers, and, Bell to protect net neutrality, and we’re keeping up our fight targeting the CRTC. We know that, when we stand together, we can take on even the biggest corporations.
Please join me in signing the petition today to tell Telus, Rogers, and Bell to stop coercing call centre employees into scamming customers.
