Email Publix to Stop Funding Attacks on Democracy

Thank you for taking action to force Publix to stop giving money to the Republicans who refused to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Your email will help pressure Publix into breaking financial ties with those who helped instigate the January 6th attack on the Capitol.

Here are some tips for writing your email:
  • Remember to be respectful and polite.

  • Two key points you may want to touch on are:

    • In the 2020 election cycle, Publix gave at least $2,000 to Florida Sen. Rick Scott, who later voted against the certification of the presidential election results. Publix also contributed $50,000 to Gov Rick DeSantis’ political committee after he had urged lawmakers in other states to overturn the popular vote.

    • It is not enough for Publix to distance itself from Mrs. Fancelli’s actions, the company must prove that it does not support the January 6th attack on the Capitol. The best way to do that is by refusing to financially support all the politicians who do not accept the 2020 election results.

  • Thoughtful, personalized messages are more impactful. Some personal points you may wish to mention include:

    • Why is it important to you that Publix stops its donations to the Republicans who did not accept the 2020 election results?

    • How does their continued financial support of these politicians impact your decision about whether or not to shop at Publix stores?
