Lobbying giant PlasticsEurope just launched a greenwashing website about polystyrene recycling -- and you can bet that it’s part of a wider corporate campaign to stop the EU banning products made from this prolific problem plastic.
The EU’s single-use plastics law is being drafted this autumn, so there is absolutely no time to waste.
We need fresh evidence of polystyrene pollution to fight back -- fast. Thankfully volunteers at Coastwatch are all set to run a survey around the whole coast of Ireland this month, and then report on what they find.
It’s a mammoth task, and Coastwatch volunteers simply can’t gather and process all the data in time to influence the EU without your support.
Will you chip in to help get throwaway polystyrene products banned for good?
