The holiday season is upon us, and it’s the perfect time to send Cadbury and Ferrero a message: Use responsibly sourced cocoa, or we’ll stop buying your chocolate.
In just over 25 years, Cote d’Ivoire has lost 85 percent of its rainforests – decimating the elephant population and driving chimpanzees out of their natural habitat. And a new investigation found that in just 13 years, we could have almost no rainforest left at all -- thanks to illegally grown cocoa in protected areas.
But more chocolate is sold during the Christmas season than nearly any other time of the year, and we can hit Cadbury and Ferrero where it counts. We need to ramp up our campaign to protect the rainforest urgently, before things get even worse.
Can you help stop this rainforest destruction?
