W.G. Yates and Sons is one of six culprits staging its prototypes of the despicable wall. The irony is, its biggest customer might be Nissan—it built the car giant’s $930 million manufacturing plant in Mississippi in 2002, and provides Nissan with critical services in factory plants across the U.S. South.

Nissan’s ties with this racist wall frontrunner are a vital pressure point that we can leverage right now to resist.

Yates and Sons is looking at a massive contract—Trump wants to pay $18 billion just to build the first phase of the wall. But that paycheck doesn’t change the facts: Yates and Sons would be helping to break up migrant families, block refugees seeking asylum, and even cut through a Texas wildlife refuge that’s home to endangered ocelots. 

Trump’s border wall is a monument to his racist, anti-immigrant fear mongering—and does not vibe with Nissan’s proclaimed global vision of “enriching people’s lives.” In 2018 alone, the Nissan Foundation granted $730,000 to organizations “promoting the value of racial, ethnic and cultural diversity,” including groups like the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition.
