The truth is, most NHS staff won’t be too concerned about having to work over Easter. But they are deeply worried about the future of our NHS.

For generations, it has provided a crucial public service to people in this country. Now that service is under threat.

Despite strong objections from health professionals, the Government is opening our precious NHS up to privatisation. Bit by bit it’s being sold off to private companies who put their own profits over the health of patients - and who often don’t even pay their taxes.

So while we’re enjoying our Bank Holiday break, let’s do more than just thank NHS staff for staying at work. Let’s stand beside them and fight for the health care system they’re busy keeping afloat.
