It’s been the focus of bans in Germany, France, Vietnam, and Belgium. And subject to billions of dollars in lawsuits from cancer victims across the world.
But local councils in Australia are still spraying glyphosate-based weedkillers like Roundup in public places.
A concerning study found that glyphosate contaminants are commonly found in urban streams and wetlands in Melbourne.
Roundup's maker, Bayer-Monsanto, is settling $15.9 billion in lawsuits from customers who had developed non-hodgkin's lymphoma from the weedkiller.
Many local councils around the country have already stopped using glyphosate, like Cook Shire Council, Fairfield City Council, Warrnambool City Council and City of South Perth Council.
Let’s make sure your local council joins them and becomes a safe, glyphosate-free neighbourhood.
