When the sun goes down, nearly 800 million people worldwide are cast into darkness. For many, their only option is to ignite dim, smoky lamps that can have the same impact on their health as smoking 40 cigarettes a day!
The crisis is especially acute in Sub-Saharan Africa, where few have access to the electricity grid, and more children under five die from respiratory illness than anything else.
But there’s a simple, sustainable, low-cost solution: solar lights.
Every $20 / £15 / €17 raised is enough to empower one family with sustainable solar lighting and expand the incredible work started by our community-led partner to bring light to homes, hospitals, and schools in Uganda, South Sudan, and Burundi. Our support before has given 1,000 families a brighter future – can you donate now to help transform the lives of a thousand more?
Anything extra raised will power our campaigning against fossil fuels and supporting renewable energy projects worldwide.
