The people have spoken. Over 100,000 SumOfUs members like you signed the petition to get PepsiCo to stop using environmentally destructive palm oil. Our spoof ad got over 1 million views and made news headlines all over the world. And thousands of you tweeted at Pepsi’s CEO to demand that she show leadership and do the right thing.
But PepsiCo’s still ignoring us. Pepsi’s executives are hoping that we’ll go away.
But we won’t. We’re riding off this momentum and taking your voices to straight to PepsiCo’s headquarters to demand change, and every member chipping in means more banners, more placards, and more reasons why Pepsi can’t turn a blind eye any longer.
Will you chip in so we can take your voice to PepsiCo’s headquarters to force it to clean up its palm oil policy?
These last two weeks have been an amazing show of people power. We’re getting bigger and stronger. We’re edging closer to protecting Indonesia’s precious rainforests and the homes of endangered animals, closer to protecting workers who are being exploited on oil palm plantations.
Massive global companies like Kellogg’s, Starbucks, and McDonald’s have adopted responsible palm oil policies after campaigns by the SumOfUs community and our partners. If they can do it, then there’s no reason why Pepsi can’t either.
Pepsi has shown us that it can do the right thing -- following a series of actions last year, the company came back to the negotiating table and came up with a new palm oil commitment. We made a spoof ad of its product Doritos (which clocked over 20 million views), and thousands of us reviewed Pepsi True on Amazon, plummeting the rating down to 1 star.
We need to give Pepsi one final push. While its palm oil commitment is a good first step, it has a huge loophole and doesn’t include its producer in Indonesia, IndoFood. And if we’re going to win, we need you to join us.
We’re teaming up with our friends at Rainforest Action Network and Racing Extinction to make this petition delivery as big as possible. We want to make sure that Pepsi knows that when we turn up, we are representing hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who want to see the snack food giant clean up its act once and for all.
Will you chip in so we can take the voices of SumOfUs members to PepsiCo to force it to fix its palm oil policy now?
