Colombia’s Indigenous Misak people have been waging a brave battle against Irish paper giant Smurfit Kappa – which has spent decades decimating the rainforests of their ancestral lands and drying up their water supply.
But now a tiny partner group that’s crucial to their fight is about to go bankrupt – and the Misak people need us to save them!
This dedicated team of Latin American migrants in Ireland has been working hand in hand with Misak leaders to raise the alarm about Smurfit’s abuses on its home turf – holding public events, pressuring politicians and running media exposés.
If they disappear now, the Misak people will be back to square one. But if we all chip in, we can give this grassroots team the money they need to keep going – ramping up pressure on Smurfit Kappa and fighting colonialist injustice everywhere.
SumOfUs members have stepped up before to help the Misak people protect their home. Now they need us again. Are you in?
