Wild trees you’ve never seen before. Birds and other wildlife you wouldn’t believe could come to your neighborhood. The feel of a fantasy forest.
This is the description of a Miyawaki forest. And it can be planted almost anywhere.
Miyawaki forests are tiny, dense and highly biodiverse. Even though they can be the size of a small backyard, they grow 10 times faster, store 40 times more carbon and become 100 times more biodiverse than modern forests.
From Malaysia to the Netherlands, local groups are planting Miyawaki forests in low-income urban areas, on the border of highways, and in places ravaged by deforestation. And we can help – these forests can be planted for less than $2/tree.
Can you help local groups buy land, nurse saplings, and spread this Miyawaki miracle far and wide?
