Ben & Jerry’s will stop operating in the illegally Occupied Palestinian Territory thanks to your pressure.
And make no mistake, this is not just about ice cream -- the day after the announcement, the Prime Minister of Israel said Ben & Jerry's decision will have “severe consequences”.
We just met with PUMA’s CEO to call on the athletic apparel company to join Ben & Jerry’s because of the momentum you created. And we think we can push PUMA to do the right thing, if you take action now.
Call on PUMA to join Ben & Jerry’s and stop supporting the Israeli apartheid regime’s oppression of Palestinian people.
After Israeli forces murdered 256 Palestinians, including 66 children, earlier this Spring, PUMA’s celebrity endorsers sent messages in support of Palestine on social media.
Yet, PUMA still supports the illegal occupation with its hundreds of thousands of dollars of endorsement deals within the Occupied Palestinian Territory that grossly violate human rights.
While the Israel Football Association teams host its games in Israeli-only stadiums in illegal settlements, mere kilometers away, Sa’id Yousef Odeh, 16-year-old Palestinian First Division budding football star, was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces in May.
He played on Balata, one of 235 Palestinian teams that are calling on PUMA to drop its sponsorship of the Israel Football Association. This is just one of many of stories from occupied Palestine under Israeli apartheid that illustrates PUMA’s complicity in human rights abuses.
Tell PUMA to be a champion of human rights and join Ben & Jerry's in exiting illegally occupied Palestine.
SumOfUs members like you made a huge difference in getting Ben & Jerry’s to be the first large global corporation to pull out of the illegally Occupied Palestinian Territory in years -- multiple sources within the company said the 50,000 of you that took action had a huge impact in this decision.
It’s clear that the only way to stop the never-ending cycle of settlement expansion and violence is to make the economic cost of this illegal occupation too high to bear -- by making corporations stop doing business in Israel. Ben & Jerry’s is the first big step, but we need more companies to join to make the cost to Israeli forces real.
SumOfUs members like you were also instrumental in getting Airbnb to delist from the illegally Occupied Palestinian territory until it succumbed to the pressure from right-wing Israeli forces. We learned from the Airbnb campaign that no company alone can withstand this pressure which is why we are calling on PUMA, who is a supporter of Black Lives Matter, to join Ben & Jerry’s in championing for Palestinian rights.
Now is the time to take action to call on PUMA to stop its complicity with the Israeli apartheid state.
