They clean oceans, trap tons of carbon, fend off coastal flooding, and give a home to endangered species: mangroves are magical floating forests and an underrated solution to fight climate chaos.
But they’re disappearing fast: less than half the world’s original mangrove still stands.
From Thailand to Kenya, community-based groups are using responsible methods to restore these natural marvels and clean up their ocean. For as little as $100 they replant and care for as much as 10000 square meters of mangrove forest!
But this work has to be done right -and it’s not easy. Knowledge is key when it comes to mangrove restoration, methods vary from place to place and local groups need support to succeed. That’s why our friends at the Mangrove Action Project (MAP) are making sure that community-led restoration projects get the tools and know-how they need to make mangroves take root and thrive!
Can you help MAP regrow one of our best chances to fight climate chaos?
