The breaking point was a report that Google had paid an outgoing executive $90 million in 2014 while silencing news of the sexual misconduct report that had pushed him out of the company.
What happened next was powerful: 17,000 Google employees came together in a massive walkout to say “enough is enough.” From Tokyo to Silicon Valley, employees demanded Google executives address harassment claim procedures, sexual harassment transparency, and pay inequity.
With over 94,000 employees and even more contract workers across the globe, Google workers have the chance to hold their employer to anti-discrimination policies that could set a precedent for the whole tech industry.
We’re rallying the SumOfUs community to join the fight for equal pay and accountability at Google. Will you stand with Google workers to say: enough is enough?

Issues of discrimination and lack of transparency at Google are pervasive: the news of million dollar payouts to executives with histories of harassment comes amidst an ongoing lawsuit from former employees and the Department of Labor claiming Google underpays women.
Holding signs reading “time’s up tech” and “sexual harassment stops here,” protesters called for accountability, transparency, and policies that make it easier—not harder—to report workplace harassment and discrimination.
Before a cheering audience in New York, Google equity engineer Demma Rodriguez shouted: “Enough is enough is enough!” We couldn’t agree more. It’s time for Google to meet employee demands and create a workplace that protects its most marginalized workers—not top-level executive abusers.
Call on Google to meet employee demands and commit to ending protections for abusers.
