Austria, France and Germany have passed groundbreaking bans on Bayer-Monsanto’s probable carcinogen. And just now, a new poll funded by SumOfUs members like you revealed that the vast majority of people in three other key countries want the toxic weedkiller out of Europe immediately.
This is the time to strike. With enough mounting opposition across the continent, Bayer-Monsanto won’t have a prayer of renewing its precious herbicide when its license ends in 2023.
That’s why we’re calling on you to join the growing chorus and demand a ban in your country -- as well as every other country in the EU.
Tell the government of your country to ban glyphosate now!
85 percent in Belgium. 79 percent in Ireland. 92 percent in Spain. No matter the place, the message is unmistakable: Europe’s citizens want a glyphosate ban, and they want it now.
But Bayer-Monsanto -- and its army of lawyers and lobbyists -- couldn’t care less. Over in the US, the megacorporation is “prepared to go through the entire court system” to fight cancer patients demanding justice. And here in Europe, Bayer’s top pesticide exec said the company would “consider legal action” if the EU bans glyphosate.
There’s only one way to defeat Bayer’s billion-euro muscle: with our combined people power. It’s up to us to mobilise all of Europe against the pesticide giant -- the same way we did when we convinced the EU to ban Bayer’s bee-killing neonics last year, or when our pressure got glyphosate’s license time slashed in half the last time it was up for renewal in 2017.
Country by country, your opposition can get this toxic chemical off the continent. All you need to do is tell your own government you’re one of the millions of people in favor of a ban. Are you with us?
