In Myanmar herrscht Todesangst: die Armee brennt die Dörfer der Rohingya nieder, erschießt fliehende Zivilisten. Die Rohingya werden seit Jahren verfolgt -- als Angehörige der muslimischen Minderheit ohne Staatsbürger-Rechte. Fast 400.000 Menschen erreichten nach einer zermürbenden Flucht das Nachbarland Bangladesch, jetzt fehlen ihnen Unterkunft und Nahrung.
Die Vereinten Nationen sprechen von „ethnischen Säuberungen”. Doch die defacto-Regierungschefin Myanmars, Aung San Suu Kyi, sieht dem Morden tatenlos zu -- und will noch nicht einmal der UNO Rede und Antwort stehen. Besonders erschreckend: Aung San Suu Kyi hält den Friedensnobelpreis.
Noch 1999 hatte sie die Welt aufgefordert, Myanmar zu meiden, um den Armee-Führern Tourismus-Gelder zu entziehen -- nutzen wir jetzt ihre eigene Boykott-Strategie: Air France KLM ist eine der größten Fluggesellschaften der Welt und fliegt nach Myanmar. Wenn Air France KLM ihre Flüge stoppt, ist das ein Signal für die ganze Tourismus-Branche -- und setzt Aung San Suu Kyi unter Druck.
Aung San Suu Kyi war die Hoffnungsträgerin des Landes, mit ihr sollte der Frieden kommen -- doch dieser Traum ist zerplatzt. Schauen wir dem Horror nicht tatenlos zu!
Ungefähr 12 Prozent der Regierungs-Gelder in Myanmar stammen aus dem Tourismus -- wenn wir hier ansetzen, können wir viel bewegen.
