It’s code red for humanity, but our planet’s biggest banks, asset managers, and insurers are pouring more fuel on the fire.
All around the world, people are struggling against increasingly extreme heatwaves, droughts, and flooding. Yet, corporate giants keep funding fossil fuel companies to dig up more oil, coal, and gas.
And the billions of youth around the world will have to pick up the pieces from the catastrophic effects of climate change.
But young people are rising up ahead of the UN Climate conference (COP26) in a few weeks. We, Future Coalition and Fridays for Future, are joining with SumOfUs and other organizations across the world to organize a massive youth-led international day of action to call on banks, assets managers, and insurers to #DefundClimateChaos and stop pumping billions of dollars into fossil fuels.

Picture this:
It’s the last Friday before the start of COP26 in Glasgow and in front of corporate headquarters in cities in every corner of the globe, giant crowds of people are rallying and chanting against the financing of oil, gas, and coal projects.
At hundreds of bank branches around the world, memorials are being laid to remember people, homes, and habitats we have lost to climate-fueled disasters.
At the offices of scores of corporate targets, street murals are being painted on the street and teach-ins are being held to educate everyone on how to push the financial sector to retire the fossil fuel industry.
News crews interview those taking part and the media headlines read “Youth delivers a message of millions calling for banks to stop financing climate chaos.
