Federal Election Commission: Investigate Trump’s Ties with
Private Prison Super PAC
President-Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration is just around
the corner; even amid questions about his unethical ties to corporations in
America and abroad. One such conglomerate,
GEO Group, generates billions from the
private prison industry in America. This corporation donated $125 million to a
pro-Trump Super PAC, Rebuilding America Now. As a federal contractor, that
donation is illegal.
Trump the self-proclaimed “law and order candidate” has
commented in the past on his support for privatization of prisons because they,
“work a lot better.” Trump apparently
isn’t aware of the evidence that private prisons treat inmates poorly in an
effort to cut costs.
While GEO Group has denied any wrongdoing, let’s work together to demand that the
Federal Election Commission investigate whether GEO Group made an illegal
donation to support president-elect Trump’s candidacy.
