Big corporations are getting bigger, richer, and meaner.
Sixty-nine of the world's top 100 economic entities are CORPORATIONS, not countries. More often than not, they're using their wealth to lobby politicians at the expense of workers, the environment and human rights.
SumofUs exists to take on these powerful corporations. And with a combination of people power, independent truth-telling, and strategic activism -- we're notching key victories.
The French Parliament has already decided to ban bee-killing pesticides for good -- despite lobbying from Monsanto, Bayer and their ilk. We've already forced huge companies like Kellogg's, McDonald's, and Dunkin' Donuts to adopt deforestation-free palm oil policies.
To stay independent and hard hitting, we rely on individual donations to take on the world's most powerful corporations. Can you chip in monthly to fund our work in 2018?
In 2018, we have ambitious plans to finish the job on powerful companies that are already on the ropes. Take fracking. The global tide is finally beginning to turn against this climate-polluting practice -- but it will take relentless campaigning to succeed against Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell, two of the richest entities on the globe.
Then there are the global brands that are tearing down our precious rainforests for palm oil products to pad their coffers. PepsiCo -- which has more wealth than over 160 nations -- is beginning to bend, but they're not broken yet. For the sake of the Indonesian rainforest, we need to keep fighting until they are.
And to stop the global bee die-off, we won't back down in 2018 against Monsanto, Bayer, and the other chemical companies peddling their dangerous neonics.
We don’t take money from corporations or government. But that means we count on the support of small donations from SumOfUs members to campaign on issues that matter.
We're lean, and we work efficiently. We're a global organisation with only 30-odd staff, and a lot of us work from home to ensure your money funds campaigns, not overhead.
To take on the world’s richest entities, we rely on individual donations and people power. Will you make a monthly contribution?
