This is outrageous: Total just announced that it raked in €33 billion in profits in 2022. This comes on the heels of similar announcements from BP, Shell, Chevron, and ExxonMobil in the last week — these five companies together brought in a record-shattering €186 billion in profits last year.
While the planet burns and consumers are slammed with skyrocketing energy prices, we all are footing the bill for subsidies to the fossil fuel industry, totaling €5.5 trillion in 2020 alone!
It’s ridiculous — we are literally paying to destroy our own planet. Yet virtually all governments around the world are complicit in this catastrophic swindle.
It’s time to demand an immediate end to all fossil fuel subsidies, because if we keep paying to set the world on fire, we’re never going to solve the climate crisis.
Sign the petition today — if we reach 1 million signatures, we’ll deliver it to world leaders at the G7 Summit in Germany this June and make a splash in the media they won’t be able to ignore.
