Trump just selected 4 companies to build prototypes of his racist border wall, and construction is expected to start any day. This is another step towards building a 1,000 mile concrete wall along the US-Mexican border that will tear families apart, and we have to stop it.

The companies Trump has tapped -- Caddell Construction, Fisher Sand & Gravel/DBA Fisher Industries, Texas Sterling Construction and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction -- are largely unknown. But together, we can fix that.

Until each company refuses to associate with Trump’s racist plan, they’ll be hearing from all of us. We’ll deliver petitions, sign shareholder resolutions, contact their competitors and customers and not stop until the world knows who they are.

And when these companies show up at San Diego to begin building their prototypes by the Otay Mesa port of entry, we’ll be there too. And we need to make sure that when we show up, we’ll be carrying hundreds of thousands of signatures from the SumOfUs community.

We know this isn’t about jobs or the economy. Trump’s wall would be a monument to the racism, xenophobia, and bigotry of his administration. What his DACA revocation started, Trump’s border wall will finish: separating immigrant families and feeding into white nationalist dreams of a white America.  

Trump even threatened to shut down the government if Congress does not agree to fund his wall this month. He’s putting everything he’s got into building this border wall, and we have to do everything we can to stop it.

Trump’s politics of hatred and division aren’t going to divide and break us. We’re going to come together with smart, tactical campaigning that can win. That’s why we need to show any corporation that plans to be involved in any part of this racist wall that if it has a shred of a commitment to human rights, it can’t stand for the Trump administration’s campaign to separate immigrant families, detain and deport children, and stoke the flames of xenophobia.
