A child in Yemen dies every 10 minutes.
And that’s before Coronavirus. Now the pandemic could explode in war-torn Yemen, and with a healthcare system already on the brink of collapse, this could become a tragedy beyond anything we’ve seen.
Saudi Arabia continues to bomb Yemen -- from hospitals, to school buses, even wedding parties. And shamefully, many of our governments are PROFITING off the bloodshed.
But this year Saudi Arabia is the host of the G20. So between urgent action needed on Coronavirus in Yemen, and the diplomatic spotlight on Saudi, we have our best chance yet to finally bring an end to the war.
Join the call for an urgent Coronavirus ceasefire, and then share this everywhere. When enough join, SumOfUs will deliver this directly to peace negotiators, so let’s make it huge!
-----------
It’s truly as bad as it gets. In addition to the bombs raining down and a looming deadly virus -- Yemen is inches away from famine. Millions of people will soon starve to death.
Despite the horror that has unfolded, many governments still sell Saudi Arabia and their allies the bombs that are killing thousands of innocent people. A school bus filled with small children was blown to bits with a US-made bomb.
But the tide is finally turning -- several countries like Germany, the UK, and Sweden have suspended weapon sales. Now pressure is mounting on Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthis to finally reach a peace agreement. There’s been progress in the past year, but it’s moving at a snail's pace.
The Coronavirus ceasefire is our best hope to kickstart the beginning of the end. If we can get them to agree to this, we can use that momentum to push for a lasting peace deal. Add your name and forward this to every friend and family member.
