It’s a terrifying statistic: 1 million species are on track to go extinct in the coming decades. That extinction rate hasn’t been seen since the fall of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
But this time there’s no asteroid – it’s human-driven.
Scientists are united around a clear solution: protecting 30% of our land and oceans by 2030 to give these animals a place to live freely. And *this week*, at a little-known conference in Montreal, Canada, the world’s climate ministers are hammering out a deal to do just that.
The problem? Mining, agriculture, and industrial fishing lobbyists, desperate to keep their freedom to pillage and profit off nature. They’ll stop at nothing to destroy the delicate talks, even joining government delegations to hide their conflicting interests from negotiators.
This is what SumOfUs was made for. Our allies inside are ready to ID the spoilers, expose their identity publicly, and stop them from sinking the deal. They just need support to do the research and get the word out. Will you urgently donate now to help us stop them from lobbying the planet to extinction?
