Dirty palm oil companies are not only destroying our rainforests -- they’re also leaving their workers destitute.
Palm oil giant Indofood pays its plantation workers illegally low wages -- and women and temporary workers get even less. Many are even forced to bring in their children to meet excessive quotas. All while Indofood destroys massive areas of rainforest to fatten its profits.
But now, a brave group of palm oil workers are fighting intimidation and threats to get fair wages and dignity at work.
Many live in rural areas where palm oil work is the only option. And already, Indofood CEO Anthoni Salim has threatened to fire or relocate union members. They’re putting their livelihoods on the line.
Now they’re asking for your help. With your donation they can continue their fight and even take their plantation owner to court.
