Despite our code red climate crisis, major polluters are ramping UP oil and gas production, and banks are INCREASING investment in fossil fuels.

We have to stop them. Our survival depends on it. But the good news is SumOfUs was made for this fight.

Last year, we pushed one of the top ten funders of fossil fuel projects worldwide, TD Bank, to commit to net-zero carbon emissions. First we brought a major shareholder resolution to Canada’s largest bank’s annual general meeting to stop funding fossil fuel expansion projects. Then we asked tens of thousands of you to keep up public outcry while we built a coalition of investors and employees to pressure the bank from the inside until shareholders couldn’t ignore our call. And it worked! TD Bank made huge changes internally, including hiring a new Director of Sustainable Finance and making a bold climate plan to achieve net-zero by 2050.
