Irish paper giant Smurfit Kappa has spent decades destroying the forest homeland of Colombia’s Indigenous Misak peoples…to make cardboard.
So we flew one of the Misak's leaders to Ireland to attend the company’s annual shareholder meeting and try to be heard. We got top-tier media coverage, but we couldn’t get inside the room because we didn’t have shares in the company.
Well, we’re going to change that.
If 5000 SumofUs members chip in the cost of a cup of coffee, we can buy enough shares of Smurfit Kappa to get direct access to their shareholder meeting – and bring Indigenous leaders right into the room with the board of directors. It's time they had their voices heard.
Chip in today to help – your donation will be used to generate matching donations.
