What do Pepsi, Bayer, Facebook and McDonald’s have in common? Millionaire CEOs sitting in skyhigh boardrooms, keeping profits high and bonuses fat.
With their private jets and tailored suits, they feel different from the rest of us. But what happens in the moment when you help confront them, face to face?
They start to sweat.
When we go to their big annual meetings, we’re in the room to show these millionaires the consequences of their decisions. The families destroyed by toxic pesticides, the ruined forests, the latest wave of bee die-offs.
And then we ask shareholders to vote to change the corporation’s policy. And often -- it works. Like when we got McDonald’s to ditch plastic straws in the UK, to protect the ocean.
But we know we can do better -- if we have the resources to show up to more corporate meetings with top lawyers and experts.
If we’re powered by donations from people like you, it makes so much more possible. Can you chip in?
