We’ve all seen the heartbreaking pictures. Desperate families seeking a better life risk it all to cross the Mediterranean in unsafe vessels. Thousands die every year on the dangerous journey.
But there’s a brave group of volunteers doing everything they can to prevent more needless deaths -- and now our community can help.
A group called Sea-Watch recently responded to a distress call. When they arrived, they caught the Libyan Coast Guard firing shots at 64 people on board, including many children. Luckily, they caught it on tape and now Italian prosecutors are investigating. But imagine if the volunteers hadn’t been there -- no one ever would have known!
These heroes are more needed than ever — heartbreakingly, last week 57 people drowned trying to cross. But operating ships and aircraft is expensive and Sea-Watch relies on small donations to power their rescue fleet. If our community comes together, we can pool our money and raise enough to make a real difference. Together, we can save countless lives.
Can you chip in to help make sure more migrants don’t drown at sea?
