By 2050, plastics will outweigh fish in our oceans if we don’t take bold action immediately.
Global mega-polluters like McDonald’s need to cut plastic use altogether, and governments need to take bold action like we’ve never seen before to tackle what the UN is calling a planetary crisis.
Until they do, sea turtles and other marine life will continue to be menaced by these floating weapons.
But there’s a glimmer of hope:
- SumOfUs campaigns driven by members like you are winning and finally causing corporations like McDonald’s in the UK to announce phase outs of some plastics like straws
- Companies around the world announcing plans to go ‘plastic free’
- At the G7 in a few weeks, plastics will be a focus thanks to pressure from SumOfUs members
- All levels of government around the planet are formulating plans on how to tackle this crisis
We have never been in a better time to double down like we never have before to take on plastics and we need your help to do it. Monthly giving is the best way to support this work because it allows us to be agile, responsive and strategic to make the biggest impact. With your help we can be ready to do whatever it takes to protect our oceans and waterways from the scourge of plastics.
Will you make a monthly donation to tackle the global plastics crisis?
