Massive oil giants like Exxon-Mobil, Suncor and Shell are profiting off the tar sands -- the largest source of climate-destroying greenhouse gas emissions in Canada.
Indigenous communities have been working for years to protect their rights and defend the land against these greedy fossil fuel companies. And now they need our support.
Our friends at Indigenous Climate Action are planning a three-day camp to bring together Indigenous leaders and communities impacted by tar sands. With the largest ever tar sands mine, Teck Frontier, being reviewed right now this camp is critical to breathe life into the movement and build effective resistance to end the environmental destruction.
The camp is just over a month away, and if we can raise $5000, we can ensure that more Indigenous leaders from far away communities can share their lessons and learn from others in the fight against these greedy oil barons. And the more people who can attend, the stronger the movement will become and the closer we will be to stopping tar sands development for good.
Can you chip in to support Indigenous leaders in their resistance to tar sands development?
