Bayer and Monsanto are hell-bent on creating a mega-corporation that would control our entire food supply. If these corporate thugs are allowed to join forces, it’ll mean disaster for bees, farmers, and the entire planet. We can’t let it happen.
And our campaign is getting real traction. Last month, we organised a huge protest at Bayer’s annual shareholder meeting that got tons of great press coverage. And just a few days ago, Bayer’s CEO, crumbling under the pressure has announced publicly that he is open to meet with opponents against this deal from civil society. He means us!
And to hold him to his word, we have a special surprise in store. With your help, we’ll invite local activists from South America who have been fighting on the front lines against Monsanto to make clear what kind of devil Bayer is planning to go to bed with. Can you imagine the media attention a press conference like that would get -- right outside Bayer headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany?
Please help us get there by chipping in to get local anti-Monsanto activists tell their story to Bayer and the world.
Monsanto’s bully tactics are well known to us, the SumOfUs community. The company tried to sue the tiny state of Vermont, simply because officials decided in favour of GMO labelling.
Monsanto has time and again used its significant resources to undermine public policies designed to protect consumers, farmers, and farm workers.
This is the type of corporate thug that SumOfUs was created to stand up to.
And our next step in this campaign is to make sure that the Bayer CEO knows what kind of company he is considering to partner with. That is why it’s so important to fly in activists who can tell their own stories directly to Bayer’s board about the insidious tactics used by Monsanto.
Can you chip in so we can tell the story about Monsanto and stop this merger?
