Shame: Britain is now the second biggest arms dealer in the world.
We’re even selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, who are committing war crimes in Yemen right now. Saudi forces have attacked charity hospitals, schools, food factories and even wedding parties. And it could be with the bombs, missiles and fighter jets we sold them.
It’s not just immoral, it’s illegal and MPs are calling for it to end. But the foreign secretary Boris Johnson is standing firm -- for now.
To stop it, we’ve got to make defending this outrage impossible for him. Go on the record against companies making money from helping kill innocent civilians abroad.
Boris Johnson: stop allowing sales of arms to Saudi Arabia while it commits war crimes in Yemen.
MPs have exposed clear evidence that our weapons are used to kill civilians. The government claims they’ve been promised that’s not true -- but by the Saudi Arabian government committing the crimes! Unbelievable.
A new UN treaty made what Britain’s doing illegal, but ministers are breaking it. The Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden all tightened up arms exports because of the Yemen crisis: why not our government? They’ve got their heads in the sand and want business as usual.
We can stop this now by turning it into a huge media outrage. But enough of us have to stand up for what’s right and add our names.
Stand against the arms trade. Sign our petition to Boris Johnson to stop the UK selling arms to Saudi Arabia while they could be used to kill civilians.
