Pharmaceutical giant Insys battled fiercely with the state of Arizona to block marijuana legalization, and poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into spreading propaganda to ensure recreational use would never become a reality. Due in part to its efforts Arizona’s legalization attempt failed, meaning those with chronic pain and other ailments suffered the most. Cannabis use is a safer and more cost effective treatment to prescription drugs.
Recently Insys filed and received approval from the US Drug Enforcement Agency to develop its own brand of synthetic marijuana called Syndros.
Its pushback against legalization has been exposed, and it was all about greed.
Call on Big Pharma to
stop its dishonest and unethical tactics to monopolize the cannabis industry
and block small growers, now.
Not only does Big Pharma itself work to block recreational
weed, but they generously support other groups that rally against legalization.
In fact, with a $500,000 contribution,
Insys singlehandedly funded the one of the biggest donations in the Arizona’s
history geared toward advocating for anti-legalization efforts. Its ploy included
citing “child safety” concerns; yet months later, Insys created their own
synthetic product. Insys power play means that they are
continuing the Big Pharma tradition of using patients as pawns. Unless we want
Insys and its counterparts to go unchecked, we must work together to stop it.
Sign the petition and
demand that Big Pharma stop bullying small cannabis owners and using corrupt schemes
to monopolize the industry, now.
