But Monsanto’s parent company Bayer is a sore loser. It won’t pay Johnson the compensation it owes him, even after a judge reduced the payment by over two-thirds. Instead, Bayer is forcing this father of three small children to spend the rest of his life in court, fighting appeal after appeal.
Now, Johnson needs your help. He doesn’t want to spend his remaining days in a drawn-out legal battle. But he also wants to make sure Bayer is brought to justice and pays what it owes. That’s why he’s personally asked us to campaign on his behalf to get Bayer to drop its appeal.
It’s time to take urgent action to show Johnson you’re on board – and let Bayer know it’s dealing with a far bigger force than it ever reckoned with.
Tell Bayer and Monsanto to drop the appeal against Dewayne Johnson.
This court case has been decades in the making. Monsanto claimed for years that its weedkiller wasn’t dangerous. Dewayne Johnson’s lawyers proved beyond doubt that the company knew full well about glyphosate’s deadly effects and did nothing to warn the public.
The floodgates are about to open for more cases from cancer patients afflicted by Monsanto’s poison -- up to 8000 of them. If Bayer accepts the Johnson verdict, it’s going to finally have to deal with the harm glyphosate has caused to thousands of people. That’s why it’s fighting so hard against paying $78 million in damages, which would otherwise be pennies to this billionaire agri-business.
We don’t have Bayer’s billions or its ever-growing legal team. All we have is the knowledge that, sooner or later, we’re going to win. The agrochemical giant threw everything it had against Johnson -- and he still came out on top.
He and his lawyers are prepared to fight Bayer again and again. But Johnson deserves to see an end to these court struggles during his lifetime. That’s why he’s asked us to come together and put pressure on Bayer and Monsanto to accept responsibility. Will you help the man who beat Monsanto defend his landmark victory?
Tell Bayer and Monsanto to pay Dewayne Johnson the compensation he deserves!
